The Weightlifting Club Guerriers, in partnership with the Canadian Crosslifting Federation, organized a 3-day training camp for weightlifting with coaches Ciro Ibanez and Abigail Guerrero.
Participants also discovered the different methods of recovery. The combination of sauna and cold bath, the number of hours of sleep for an athlete, the effects of alcohol on recovery, and much more.
They were also able to learn different stretching exercises with our coach Abigail. One of the biggest weaknesses of the participants was their mobility. It was therefore important to make them understand the importance of stretching.
On the last day of the training camp, participants were able to discover the competitive aspect of weightlifting by taking part in a friendly competition. It was an opportunity for them to put into practice all their knowledge acquired during this training camp.
Each training session lasted approximately 2 hours followed by a recovery session.
The first day was partly devoted to the physical preparation of our athletes. It was thus possible to determine the level of strength of each of our participants in order to better prepare the rest of the training. The bulk of the training camp was devoted to the technique of snatching and clean-jerking. It was very important that our participants master the proper way to lift weight.
Thank you to all participants for putting so much effort into training camp!
Below you will find the results as well as the photos!
