Team Canada in numbers at Tokyo

All five Canadian athletes have now competed at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

As you can see from the analyzes below, by having a gap of more than 5% between these performances and the Olympic records, an athlete has no chance of a medal.
With her performance, Maude Charron is at 2-3% from the Olympic records, but 10% from the world records. With her victory at Tokyo, we see that the level at the Worlds is higher than at the Olympics.

Boady Santavy who finished first in the snatch with a beautiful 178 kg could not follow his competitors in the clean and jerk. His last clean and jerk was at 8% from the Olympic record and at 10% from the world record.
Boady has already announced that he will continue training for Paris 2024. If he progresses in the clean and jerk, he will have a good chance of winning a medal at Paris.

At 23, Tali represents a hope for a medal at Paris 2024, being at less than 10% from the Olympic records.

As for Rachel and Kristel, they are at an average of 19% from world, Olympic and junior records.

Congratulations to these athletes for their efforts! Canada ends with an Olympic gold medal in weightlifting thanks to Maude Charron!
