New PRs for Rosalie at the Atlantic Cup

Rosalie Dumas, a high-performance athlete from the Guerriers Beyond Lifting club, has set her sights on qualifying for the Paris 2024 Olympics as an -81 kg athlete. In her journey towards the Olympics, Rosalie recently competed in the Atlantic Cup, a weightlifting competition organized jointly by the Atlantic Provinces under the direction of the Nova Scotia Weightlifting Association.

The Atlantic Cup is an important competition for weightlifters, as it is part of the selection journey for the IWF Grand Prix, which in turn is part of the selection process for the Paris 2024 Olympics. For Rosalie, this was an opportunity to showcase her skills and get one step closer to her Olympic dreams.

At the competition, Rosalie weighed in at 80.7 kg and performed exceptionally well. She set new personal records in both the snatch and clean and jerk, lifting 106 kg and 129 kg respectively, for a total of 235 kg. This impressive performance represents an improvement of 1 kg in both the snatch and clean and jerk, and an increase of 2 kg of her best total.

While the competition itself went well, Rosalie noted that the warm-up area was a little restricted in terms of space and the number of platforms available. Nonetheless, the overall organization of the event was good, and the equipment provided was of high quality.

One noteworthy aspect of the competition was the welcome bag provided to athletes, which included useful items such as straps and biosteel supplements. These thoughtful touches help to make the experience of competing in the Atlantic Cup even more enjoyable for athletes like Rosalie.

The Atlantic Cup was a great success for Rosalie Dumas, who is now one step closer to achieving her goal of qualifying for the Paris 2024 Olympics. With her hard work, dedication, and impressive performance, she has proven that she has what it takes to compete at the highest levels of the sport.
